A cluster does more than pay in Aztec Clusters: it marks positions, makes space for Dig-up symbols and can prepare stronger cells for the next refill. Free Spins carry that development across multiple spins.

Follow two separate layers: cells rise in steps of two to 10×, while participating Wilds rise in steps of ten to 100×. Their persistence changes when Free Spins begin.
Inside the game
The sequence is cluster win, marked cells, possible Dig-up and refill. Each stage has a different job.
BGaming’s provider page describes a 6×8 grid.
Five or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically form a winning cluster.
After the win:
Diagonal contact by itself does not join a cluster.
A winning cluster marks the cells it occupied.
If a later win in the same refill sequence uses a marked cell, that cell gains a multiplier starting at 2×.
Repeated wins on the same cell increase the value by another 2×, up to 10×.
When several multiplied cells belong to the same winning cluster, their values are added together before being applied. Two multiplied cells are not multiplied by one another.
In the base game, Cell Multipliers last until the refill sequence ends and are cleared before the next paid spin. In Free Spins, marked cells and their multipliers persist until the bonus round ends. That difference is central. The same 10× cell ceiling has much greater progression potential when the marked board survives from spin to spin.
After a winning cluster disappears but before the empty spaces refill, the game can reveal one of four bonus symbols in those empty cells:
Dig-up sits between removal and refill. A special symbol can therefore change the empty space before the next ordinary symbol arrives, which is why a continuing cluster chain can also build the feature state.
A dug-up Wild substitutes for paying symbols except Scatter, Booster and Destroyer.
A Wild dug up on a cell that already has a multiplier receives a 10× multiplier. Each later win involving it adds another 10×, subject to the 100× limit.
The Wild substitutes for paying symbols but not Scatter, Booster or Destroyer. Its substitution role helps form a cluster while its multiplier affects the resulting award.
In the base refill sequence, the Wild stays sticky until that sequence ends.
In Free Spins, Sticky Wilds remain in place for the rest of the bonus round.
The 100× Wild ceiling is separate from the 10× Cell Multiplier ceiling.
A Booster can appear in an empty cell after a win.
The retained provider material describes it adding:
It then disappears.
This makes Booster a cross-system upgrade: one symbol can strengthen both the cell layer and Wild layer.
Destroyer removes all low-paying symbols from the screen without paying for the destroyed symbols, then disappears and allows the grid to refill.
Its value is board reshaping, not a direct cash award.
Scatters can land normally or be dug up, with at most one per reel. Three or more start Free Spins, and the same minimum can retrigger the feature.
At entry, the triggering Scatters turn into Wilds or 10× Cell Multipliers. The positions that brought the bonus in therefore become part of its starting board.

BGaming lists a Wild Spin feature at 20× bet.
It guarantees at least one Wild to be dug up before that spin begins.
The feature is available only in the base game according to the provider description.
The four purchases buy different guaranteed starting states, using Scatter-to-Wild conversion at entry. Paying more guarantees more starting Wilds, not a profitable bonus.
BGaming lists these costs for its product configuration. Availability and the displayed price depend on the operator and market, so check the in-game confirmation.
| Cost | Guaranteed starting Wilds |
|---|---|
| 100× bet | None guaranteed |
| 200× bet | At least 1 |
| 400× bet | At least 2 |
| 800× bet | At least 3 |

04 / The SlotsCollector take
A 6×8 cluster grid where repeat wins build cell multipliers and dug-up Wilds stay through the bonus.
Aztec Clusters is mechanically dense, but almost every feature feeds one of two state systems.
The first is the cell map. Winning clusters mark positions. Reusing those positions increases their multipliers. In the base game that map lasts only for the current refill chain, so development has to happen quickly.
The second is the Wild map. Dug-up Wilds can carry multipliers and grow by 10× increments when they participate in wins.
Booster is the bridge between them. It can strengthen existing Cell Multipliers and Wild multipliers at the same time.
Free Spins make both systems more important because the state lasts longer. Marked cells persist for the feature, and Sticky Wilds stay on the board. The accumulated map of valuable positions and Wilds matters as much as the size of a single cluster.
The Scatter conversion makes the starting feature state interesting as well. Triggering Scatters do not simply vanish; they become Sticky Wilds or 10× multiplier cells. The Buy Bonus menu changes how many of those starting Wild conversions are guaranteed.
The 100×, 200×, 400× and 800× purchases change how many Wild conversions are guaranteed. That makes them different starting positions, while leaving the final result uncertain.
The 10,000× ceiling and Very High classification frame the risk, but the more revealing distinction is how long the board retains its progress. A base-game chain must develop before it ends; Free Spins let valuable cells and Wilds survive into later spins.
