There are two stages to the Egyptian Coin bonus: preliminary locked symbols can help reach six Coins, then the actual Locked Spins feature collects more until its wheel and possible full-board Grand resolve.

Guardian of Ra at a glance
Guardian of Ra is a 2022 Red Rake Gaming video slot set around the goddess Sekhmet and ancient Egyptian symbols. It uses five reels, three rows and 30 paylines.
Inside the game
How Guardian of Ra works
An Egyptian game with two collection stages
An Egyptian game with two collection stages
The title is unusual because what looks like one continuous Coin feature actually contains a preparatory locked-Gold phase and a distinct Locked Spins bonus. A special Gold Coin or Gold Wheel can start fixed-symbol respins aimed at accumulating six Coins. Once the required Coin count is achieved, the larger Locked Spins round begins under its own rules.
The provider also includes a jackpot wheel and ordinary Free Spins with Wild substitutions on central reels. The retained source establishes their conditions, but not exact active RTP, jackpot cash values or the initial ordinary Free Spins count.
Locked Gold Coins prepare the bonus
The preliminary Locked Gold Coins effect begins when the relevant Gold Coin or Gold Wheel symbols appear. These special symbols stay fixed, and the game awards three respins to help assemble enough Coins for feature entry.
The objective at this preliminary stage is reaching six Coin symbols. Gold Coins and Gold Wheels can remain in place during the three preparatory respins, giving that stage a visible collection target. Reaching the six-Coin threshold leads into Locked Spins; it is distinct from completing all fifteen positions for the later Grand condition.
A player should therefore distinguish a three-respin preliminary collection from Locked Spins once it has been entered. A still showing held Gold Coins on the main reels illustrates the first stage; it is not proof the full collection bonus has been completed.
The source does not claim a guarantee of reaching six Coins through the preliminary phase. Three opportunities to add symbols do not make the final qualifying Coin certain.
Six Coins start Locked Spins
Six Coin symbols of the same or different types trigger Locked Spins under Red Rake's rules. The feature then begins with three respins.
During Locked Spins, each additional qualifying Coin resets the counter to three. This creates a held board where both occupied positions and remaining chances matter. It can last longer than three evaluated spins if new Coins keep arriving.
The same-looking three-respin counter appears in the preliminary mode and the main Locked Spins feature, but they have different roles. The first aims to reach six Coins; the latter builds the payout board after entry.
The Locked Spins image contains fixed prizes, empty positions and a Wheel symbol. Those empty positions are meaningful because new qualifying Coins can reset the three-respin counter. The Wheel has a separate settlement point after the respins are used; its presence on the board does not mean the wheel has already been spun.
The jackpot wheel resolves after the respins
Red Rake describes Gold Wheel symbols granting wheel spins after the three respins have been used. That settlement timing is important: a Wheel symbol may remain visible while the counter is still active, but its spin is resolved when the applicable respin sequence has finished.
The Wheel can award Mini, Minor or Major prize levels in the Locked Spins feature. Those are the named tiers in the provider overview, not a guaranteed set of cash amounts determined by the artwork.
A retained screenshot shows the wheel overlay with its sectors. It explains what the jackpot-selection interface looks like; it does not establish the likelihood of a given tier. A photographed Mini award similarly illustrates one successful state rather than a universal fixed cash payout.
The player should not describe every Wheel symbol as an instant jackpot credited at the moment it lands. Entry and resolution are separate events.
Filling all fifteen positions earns Grand
Locked Spins has an additional clear objective: filling the board with fifteen Coins awards the Grand prize.
That is a full-board condition distinct from selecting Mini, Minor or Major on the wheel. A screen with fourteen held positions is one Coin away visually, but it is not guaranteed to fill the final position before its counter expires.
A Grand award is also not a progressive shared casino jackpot unless a different source establishes such a system. The saved product text presents it as a specific in-game achievement.
For a free-play walkthrough, count the remaining empty cells while watching the respin counter and any held Wheel symbols. The final payment is not simply the sum of everything that appeared: named Wheel or Grand rules can contribute separate awards under the exact game settlement.
Beetle Scatters open ordinary Free Spins
Three or more Beetle symbols on different reels trigger the Free Spins feature. The different-reel requirement is meaningful; the rule is not merely three Beetles anywhere within one reel.
During Free Spins, some low-, medium- and high-paying symbols on reels two, three and four can become Wilds. Locked Spins remains available during the Free Spins sequence, adding the possibility that one bonus mode leads into the other.
This is different from treating every Beetle as a Coin. The Beetles open the longer Free Spins mode; the Coin count determines Locked Spins entry. Wild substitutions on the central reels modify line-win possibilities within Free Spins.
The exact initial number of ordinary Free Spins is not established by the retained source and should not be guessed from another Red Rake Egyptian slot.
Source images and native size limits
Six original images have been curated: an Egyptian main field, preparatory Gold Coin/Gold Wheel symbols, a Locked Spins board, its Wheel overlay, a feature-award state and a Free Spins screen showing Wilds on central reels.
The pictures follow several distinct states: Gold symbols held during preparation, the active Locked Spins board, the jackpot Wheel and a filled prize field carrying a Mini token. That Mini token is visible in the example, but the image does not display a Grand settlement. The fifteen-Coin Grand condition comes from the rules, while the separate Free Games picture shows Wilds on the middle reels.
A cash value visible on a wheel screenshot is one state from the supplier, not a guaranteed present-day payout across currencies. The purpose is to show which event the player is reading.

04 / The SlotsCollector take
Player fit and verdict
Guardian of Ra suits players who enjoy held-symbol progression and bonus modes that can nest inside Free Spins. Its most useful gameplay question is whether the current screen belongs to preparation, Locked Spins settlement or ordinary Free Spins.
The drawback is complexity around identical-looking Coins and counters. A preparation stage can show three respins without yet being the main Locked Spins game; a Wheel icon can be present before its later settlement; and the full-board Grand is conditional on all fifteen positions filling.
These distinctions make the game more interesting than a simple Egyptian line slot, but they also make it important not to chase a screenshot jackpot as if it were an expected outcome. The source supports feature architecture, not probability forecasts.
