How Hot Tuna works
Money fish have two mutually exclusive outcomes on a spin: a fisherman collects them now, or their missed appearance advances the meter towards a stronger second phase.
Ten fixed paylines
The five-by-three base uses ordinary left-to-right lines, with scatter symbols providing the route into the fishing feature.
Ten to twenty Free Spins
Three, four or five scatters award progressively longer starting rounds before fisherman and meter activity begins.
Fisherman collection and time
A fisherman Wild gathers all money symbols visible on that spin and adds one Free Spin to the remaining counter.
Missed-fish meter phase
Uncollected money symbols fill a meter. Completion gives ten spins where Hot Tuna symbols can multiply a fisherman collection by 10x.

What happens to missed fish
Money landing without a Wild fills a seven-step meter, six Money symbols per step. Filling it adds ten spins and enables Hot Tuna; excess symbols carry into the next meter.
When Hot Tuna becomes available
Hot Tuna is available after the first retrigger. It applies 10× to the collected Money total; multiple Hot Tuna in one collection add their multipliers together.
The round limit
The 2,500× total-bet cap ends Free Spins and forfeits remaining spins.

Hot Tuna uses a familiar 5×3 grid and ten paylines, but changes how failed collections feel. Three, four or five scatters award 10, 15 or 20 Free Spins. During the feature, fisherman Wilds gather every visible money fish on the same spin and add one extra turn. Money symbols that land without a fisherman are not paid immediately; instead, they fill a separate meter.
Completing that meter awards ten further Free Spins and introduces special Hot Tuna symbols. When a Hot Tuna and fisherman appear together, the fisherman first collects the fish values and the combined amount receives a 10x multiplier. This creates two kinds of progress from the same symbol family: direct cash when the collector arrives and delayed feature growth when it does not.
The mechanism softens the usual frustration of seeing valuable fish without a Wild, although an incomplete meter still expires when the round ends. Pragmatic Play lists medium volatility, 96.53% RTP and a 2,500x maximum for this version. The ceiling is lower than many newer Big Bass titles, but that label says nothing about how often one short demo session will complete the meter.
