Know this game
The ordinary win rule, the Feature Generator and the 7×7 Galaxy Star are separate layers. Understanding that order makes this sequel easier to follow than relying on the Starburst name alone.
Inside the game
Find an unbroken line first; then follow the Avalanche and any feature that changes the board.
Three or more identical symbols pay when they form an unbroken horizontal or vertical line anywhere on the reels. The line must be straight and have no gaps.
Three matching symbols forming an L shape are not the same as three in a row. Likewise, two matching symbols separated by another symbol do not form the required unbroken line.
Unlike a conventional left-to-right payline system, the provider rule allows the qualifying line anywhere on the board. Both orientation and continuity matter.
Every winning combination triggers an Avalanche™.
The winning symbols disappear and new symbols drop down into the vacated positions.
That can create consecutive wins from one initial spin state.
Each Avalanche follows an actual winning combination. The board is evaluated again after the replacement symbols arrive, so one initial spin can contain more than one winning evaluation.
Winning combinations fuel the Feature Generator, giving consecutive wins a second role beyond their immediate payout. They can also progress the feature system.
NetEnt names five outcomes: Random Wilds, Expanding Wilds, Destroy, Line Transform and Upgrade. The overview identifies them without giving a complete numerical rule table for every outcome.
Random Wilds and Expanding Wilds are two separately named Feature Generator outcomes. They belong to the generator layer, not to the basic requirement for an unbroken line of matching symbols.
The provider overview does not fix a universal Wild count for either outcome. A screen full of Wild artwork should not be read as a promise that every activation will produce the same board.
Destroy, Line Transform and Upgrade complete the provider’s five-outcome generator list. They are different named outcomes, rather than three guaranteed stages that occur after every win.
The next board still needs to be read using the game’s win rule. A feature animation and a paid combination are separate events; the headline feature name alone does not specify the resulting payout.
A symbol win begins the Avalanche. Winning symbols disappear and replacements drop into the gaps. New qualifying lines can then pay and continue the sequence.
The same win sequence can also contribute to the Feature Generator. This is why following only the first symbol win misses part of the game’s progression.
Galaxy Star expands the game to a 7×7 grid and introduces falling Wilds. The larger board is a feature state, not evidence that every normal spin starts with forty-nine positions.
More visible positions change the board you are reading, but they do not remove the requirement for qualifying combinations. The expansion is not itself a fixed cash award.
An ordinary win, a Feature Generator outcome and Galaxy Star answer different questions: whether symbols pay, which effect is activated, and whether the playing area expands.
Keeping those states separate helps when several animations appear in one sequence. A Wild effect is not automatically Galaxy Star, and the presence of the generator does not mean a bonus is awarded on every spin.
| Layer | Documented role |
|---|---|
| Symbol evaluation | 3+ identical symbols in an unbroken horizontal or vertical line |
| Avalanche | Remove winners and refill the board |
| Feature Generator | Fueled by winning combinations; five named outcomes |
| Galaxy Star | Expand to 7×7 with falling Wilds |
NetEnt describes Galaxy Star as the expansion to a 7×7 grid where Wilds rain down. This gives the feature its visual identity: a larger playing area and Wild activity together.
The retained introduction shows the game’s branding and feature presentation. It does not establish an exact number of Wilds, a guaranteed payout or how long a particular Galaxy Star sequence lasts.
Elevate offers five named options: Bonus Boost, Mega Star, Boosted Mega Star, Galaxy Star and Galaxy Star Bonanza. These are separate choices in the provider’s overview, not a required five-stage ladder.
Check the version’s own menu for what each option costs and activates. A label containing Boost does not by itself establish a fixed multiplier, a particular RTP or a guaranteed return.
NetEnt lists a provider RTP of 96.00%. That percentage is a theoretical return for the documented configuration and is not verification of an individual casino’s active setting.
The figure also cannot substitute for entry-specific math. The retained overview does not provide separate returns for all five Elevate options.
The official volatility category is Mid / High. It describes the provider’s classification rather than a prediction of the next spin or a promise of regular wins.
For player fit, the more concrete distinction is the layered flow: line wins lead to Avalanches, wins fuel the generator and Galaxy Star changes the size of the board.
The retained first-party catalog lists 2024 as the release year. The supported value is the year; no exact day is asserted here.
The saved image is an introduction screen. A current playable runtime was not verified in the retained evidence, so this guide uses NetEnt’s documented rules and feature names.
This is especially relevant to Elevate: the overview confirms its five options, while a casino’s current prices and availability need to be read in that version’s menu.
The winning group must be horizontal or vertical without gaps. A bent cluster of matching symbols is a different geometry.
Symbols are removed and replaced after a qualifying combination; the effect can produce another evaluation within the same sequence.
The five Elevate names are documented, but there is no universal menu cost in the saved overview.

04 / The SlotsCollector take
Unbroken symbol lines feed a Feature Generator and a larger Galaxy Star grid.
Starburst Galaxy is a useful example of a sequel that changes the underlying win grammar instead of merely adding more features to the original game.
The original Starburst is strongly associated with paylines and expanding Wilds.
Galaxy starts with horizontal or vertical runs of at least three matching symbols, with no gaps. This changes what you look for on the board before any feature is involved.
That win system then feeds the Avalanche loop.
The Feature Generator adds a second layer because consecutive winning combinations are not just payouts; they also charge access to one of five board-changing effects.
Galaxy Star expands the game to 7×7. That escalation changes the space available for symbol interactions rather than merely adding a larger number to the facts table.
Elevate adds optional feature states or boosts. Their availability and prices can vary by operator; a named option alone does not establish a better expected return.
Starburst Galaxy has its own win system, generator and board expansion. The original Starburst’s familiar paylines do not explain how this game resolves wins.
