Inside the game

How Sakura Fortune 2 works

The same Wild behaves differently in a respin and in Fortune Free Spins; its lifetime is the key rule.

Base format

The inspected rules specify:

  • 5 reels;
  • heights 3-4-4-4-3;
  • 576 fixed ways.

Wins pay left to right across adjacent reels.

This is not a variable Megaways slot. The unusual reel heights are fixed.

Sakura Wild

Sakura Wild appears on reels 2, 3 and 4.

It substitutes for paying symbols except Sword Scatter.

When a Sakura Wild lands in the base game, there is a chance that all Sakura Wilds nudge into full-reel Wilds. Each full reel awards one respin and stays locked for those respins.

A full-reel Sakura Wild:

  • awards +1 respin;
  • locks in place for that respin.

This gives the base game a short persistent-Wild sequence even before Free Spins.

Sword Scatter collection

Sword Scatters appear on the three middle reels.

Landing three Sword Scatters triggers an unusual pre-bonus sequence:

  • reels 1 and 5 respin;
  • those side reels contain only Sword Scatters;
  • they continue respinning until no new Sword Scatter lands or five total Scatters have been collected.

The final Scatter count determines the starting bonus state.

Fortune Free Spins

3 Scatters

Awards 9 Free Spins.

4 Scatters

Awards 10 Free Spins and starts with 1 locked Sakura Wild.

5 Scatters

Awards 11 Free Spins and starts with 2 locked Sakura Wilds. This is a meaningful progression: higher trigger counts increase both spins and persistent Wild state.

Wild behaviour in Free Spins

During Fortune Free Spins:

  • Sakura Wilds always nudge to cover their full reel;
  • full-reel Sakura Wilds remain sticky for the rest of the bonus;
  • each new full-reel Wild awards +1 Free Spin.

When all three middle reels have locked Sakura Wilds, wins receive a 3× multiplier.

The feature therefore progresses toward a clearly visible end state: three full middle-reel Wilds.

Buy Feature

The three purchases enter the same Fortune Free Spins rules with different minimum Scatter starts. The price is charged in multiples of the selected bet, not as a normal single spin.

The 55× option begins with three or more Sword Scatters; 70× starts with four and 320× with five. Four and five bring one and two pre-locked Wild reels respectively.

Quickspin limits Buy Feature to the 96% game model and participating markets.

RTP models

The saved Help configuration states 96.03% for normal play. Quickspin’s product sheet specifies three models: sakura2 at 96.03%, sakura294 at 94.11% and sakura290 at 90.15%. The provider page shortens these to 96%, 94% and 90% labels.

Purchased entries have their own theoretical returns: 96.24% for the 3+ Scatter entry, 96.44% for four Scatters and 96.72% for five. These long-run percentages do not indicate how much a particular bonus will pay.

From three Scatters to the final starting state

  1. Land the middle three

    Three Sword Scatters on reels 2–4 open the collection sequence.

  2. Collect on the outside

    Reels 1 and 5 respin with Sword Scatters as the only new symbol. Collection continues until no new Scatter arrives or five Scatters have been collected.

  3. Carry the result into the bonus

    The final count sets the starting spins and locked Wild reels before Fortune Free Spins begins.

Common misunderstandings

The base game uses fixed 576 ways

The 3-4-4-4-3 layout does not vary like Megaways.

Sakura Wilds do not appear on the outer reels

They are restricted to reels 2–4.

A full-reel Wild in the base game is temporary

It locks for the awarded respin, whereas in Fortune Free Spins it remains sticky for the rest of the bonus.

The 3× win multiplier requires all three middle Wild reels locked

It is a separate end-state benefit, not the multiplier of a single Wild.

Base RTP models and Buy RTPs answer different questions

96/94/90 are game configurations; 96.24/96.44/96.72 are feature-entry values.

Player fit

Good fit:

  • players who enjoy visible Sticky Wild progression;
  • players who like fixed ways rather than variable Megaways;
  • players who want buy options mapped to clearly stronger starting states.

Less suitable:

  • players who want a simple one-stage Scatter trigger;
  • players who dislike persistent Wild bonuses;
  • players who want one universal RTP value.

Wild-state progression

Ordinary Sakura Wild in the base game

  • appears on reels 2–4;
  • can nudge to cover the reel.

Full-reel Wild during a base-game respin

  • locks only for the awarded respin;
  • gives the player a temporary preview of the bonus mechanic.

Full-reel Wild in Fortune Free Spins

  • remains sticky for the rest of the bonus;
  • adds one Free Spin;
  • contributes toward the three-Wild end state.

This distinction is important because “sticky Wild” is only fully accurate inside the bonus.

Why the trigger sequence matters

The side-reel collection phase changes the starting state before Free Spins begin.

A normal three-Scatter trigger still has the opportunity to become a four- or five-Scatter start during the side-reel respins.

That means the bonus-entry animation is not decorative. It determines whether the feature begins with zero, one or two locked Sakura Wild reels.

Three locked Wilds as the bonus goal

Once all three middle reels are covered by persistent Sakura Wilds:

  • the board has maximum Wild coverage on reels 2–4;
  • wins receive the 3× bonus multiplier;
  • subsequent spins keep those Wild reels locked.

This gives the bonus a clear visual objective.

The bonus has two milestones: first lock the remaining middle reels, then use the 3× win multiplier while those three full-reel Wilds stay in place.

What the purchase price changes

The buy price and the bonus RTP answer different questions. Price is the amount charged for the selected entry. RTP is its theoretical return over very large numbers of plays.

For a €1 selected bet, the entry prices are €55, €70 and €320. Moving from four to five Scatters adds one initial spin and one pre-locked Wild reel; it does not guarantee the third Wild or a profitable bonus.

Character-symbol payouts at a €1 total bet

At the €1 total bet shown in the saved paytable, the five character and animal symbols pay the following amounts across adjacent reels from the left. These are symbol-combination values before separate feature effects.

Saved €1 paytable
Symbol3 reels4 reels5 reels
Sensei€0.80€1.20€6.00
Tomoe€0.60€0.80€1.60
Yoshida€0.50€0.75€1.50
Jizo€0.40€0.50€1.20
Koi€0.30€0.40€0.80

Reading the 576-way board

The fixed 3-4-4-4-3 shape produces 576 ways: multiply the number of positions across the five reels. Winning symbols must still connect from the left on adjacent reels.

A matching symbol on the right cannot bridge a missing match in the middle. Locked Wild reels help connect combinations, but the outside reels still have to supply qualifying paying symbols.

Product-sheet results and configuration limits

Quickspin’s product sheet reports the largest payout found in a stated number of simulated spins for each model. These are finite-simulation results, not a contractual maximum-win cap or the probability of winning that amount.

Different samples and math models can produce different observed maxima. The largest number in this table should not be treated as a promised outcome or copied into a universal game-cap field.

04 / The SlotsCollector take

Sakura Fortune 2: our take

Build three sticky Wild reels, then multiply the whole bonus by 3×.

Sakura Fortune 2 has one of the cleaner persistent-Wild bonus structures because every step is visible on the reels.

The base game already teaches the mechanic. A Sakura Wild can nudge into a full-reel Wild, lock for a respin and give the player a short example of what persistence feels like.

The Scatter trigger then adds a preparation stage that most Free Spins slots do not have. Three middle-reel Scatters do not immediately jump into the feature. The two outside reels get a chance to add more Scatters first.

That means the trigger can improve itself before Free Spins begin.

The difference between three, four and five Scatters is not cosmetic. Four starts the bonus with one locked Wild; five starts with two. Since the main bonus goal is to lock all three middle reels, the five-Scatter start is much closer to the strongest persistent state.

Every new Sakura Wild in the feature does three useful things: expands to the full reel, stays for the remaining bonus and adds a spin. That makes each Wild both a board upgrade and a time extension.

The final three-Wild state then adds a 3× win multiplier.

The 55×, 70× and 320× buy options purchase different starting conditions. Each has its own stated RTP as well as its own entry price.

Sakura Fortune 2 suits players who enjoy a visible, persistent bonus objective. It asks you to follow which reels are locked and how long they will stay that way, rather than learn several unrelated feature modes.
