The bonus is about persistent positions and time. A full Wild line pays again on each remaining Free Spin, so both the shape of the locked board and the remaining counter matter.
Inside the game
Five Wild graphics share one function; follow the positions they occupy rather than treating each bandit as a separate mechanic.
The inspected rules describe: The game has five different Wild graphics — one assigned to each reel — but all perform the same substitution role.
Wilds appear on all reels and substitute for normal symbols. Landing at least three Wilds anywhere in one spin triggers Revenge Free Spins. The trigger itself matters because those Wilds are carried into the feature as Sticky Wilds.
The provider/rules describe different starting awards based on trigger count.
The saved rules give 10 Free Spins for three Wilds and 12 for four Wilds.
All Wilds that triggered the feature lock in their positions for the entire bonus. That gives the starting spin a direct effect on every later spin.
Every new Wild that lands during Revenge Free Spins: This creates a simple progression loop: more locked Wilds both improve future line coverage and extend the feature.
| Triggering Wilds | Starting Free Spins |
|---|---|
| 3 | 10 |
| 4 | 12 |
| 5 | 15 |
If Sticky Wilds fill the positions of an entire payline, the line becomes a Trail of Blood.
The inspected rules state that each locked Trail of Blood line pays 300× bet on every Revenge Free Spin.
This is the game’s central mechanic.
Multiple locked lines can exist at the same time if the Sticky Wild layout satisfies more than one payline.
The inspected rules list two purchase levels:
Triggers Revenge Free Spins with 3+ Wilds using the same trigger distribution as natural entry. RTP: 96.36%.
Triggers the feature with 4+ Wilds. RTP: 96.68%. The rules say the Free Spins behave the same as natural triggers after entry. Buy Feature availability can vary by market.
Quickspin describes Trail of Blood as a high-volatility game and, at its release, the most volatile entry in the Sticky Bandits series. That is a provider classification rather than an expectation for a short session.
The source of volatility is easier to understand through the bonus structure: Wild positions persist and a complete line can repeat its award over several spins. Those possibilities do not mean a feature will necessarily complete a line.
Quickspin’s provider page lists 14 starting spins for five Wilds. The retained game paytable, marked version 1.4.0, and its Help text list 15. Both agree on ten spins for three Wilds and twelve for four.
This guide uses the saved in-game 15-spin award in its table. If the casino’s own rules show a different number, use the rules of that offered version rather than assuming the provider overview and game build are identical.
The value of a completed Trail of Blood line depends heavily on when it becomes complete.
If the full line locks early, the 300× recurring payment has more remaining Free Spins to repeat.
If it completes on the last spin, there is much less remaining time for the recurring line award.
Because the game uses 10 fixed paylines, one set of Sticky Wilds can potentially satisfy more than one line path.
Locked Trail lines follow the game’s payline geometry.
They are reel-specific visual versions of the same Wild function.
The player does not start Free Spins from an empty board.
This is separate from completing a Trail of Blood line.
It is not the game's total maximum win.
The 400× option is not simply the same feature at a higher price with no structural difference.
Good fit:
Less suitable:
Three or more Wilds award Revenge Free Spins. The triggering Wilds lock in their original positions.
A new Wild stays for the rest of the bonus and adds one Free Spin.
When Sticky Wilds cover an entire line path, that Trail of Blood pays 300× bet on each remaining Free Spin.
The ten-line map remains relevant after the trigger because the recurring award requires a complete payline, not simply five Wilds anywhere.
Two boards with the same number of Wilds can occupy different line paths. Count the missing positions on each path rather than assuming any set of five Wilds makes a Trail of Blood.
The player does not control where Wilds land, but understanding the line geometry explains why some board states are much closer to a recurring 300× line than others.
A completed Trail of Blood line pays on every remaining Free Spin.
The practical importance of that rule is time.
A line completed with many spins left can repeat its 300× award multiple times. The same line completed at the end of the feature has far less time to repeat.
This does not create a player strategy—the Wild placements are random—but it does explain why two bonuses with the same final Sticky Wild count can have very different totals.
The 100× buy enters with three or more Wilds; the 400× entry starts with at least four. Those trigger Wilds become the initial sticky board, so the minimum layout differs before the first bonus spin.
After entry, the same Revenge rules apply. Each additional Wild locks and adds a spin; complete lines receive the recurring award. A higher starting Wild count does not guarantee that the remaining Wilds will complete a particular path.
| Cost | Minimum starting Wilds | RTP |
|---|---|---|
| 100× bet | 3 | 96.36% |
| 400× bet | 4 | 96.68% |
At the €1 total bet shown in the saved paytable, ordinary weapons pay on two to five adjacent reels. These are line-combination payouts, separate from the bonus’s recurring Trail of Blood award.
| Symbol | 2 reels | 3 reels | 4 reels | 5 reels |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revolver | €0.50 | €2.00 | €10.00 | €75.00 |
| Knife | €0.40 | €1.50 | €7.50 | €40.00 |
| Brass Knuckles | €0.30 | €1.20 | €6.00 | €30.00 |
| Fire Bomb | €0.20 | €1.00 | €5.00 | €20.00 |
The normal saved RTP is 96.23%. The two purchased entries have separate values of 96.36% and 96.68%, reflecting different starting distributions. They should not be blended into one number.
A purchase is charged in multiples of the total bet. In the retained €1 menu, the two cards cost €100 and €400. Confirm both the selected stake and the entry option before treating either amount as the next transaction.
Quickspin’s product sheet reports the largest payout found in a stated number of simulated spins for each model. These are finite-simulation results, not a contractual maximum-win cap or the probability of winning that amount.
Different samples and math models can produce different observed maxima. The largest number in this table should not be treated as a promised outcome or copied into a universal game-cap field.
| Model | Highest observed payout | Simulated spins |
|---|---|---|
| trailofblood · 96.23% | 17,279.5× | 100 million |
| trailofblood94 · 94.19% | 16,824.8× | 100 million |
| trailofblood87 · 87.15% | 14,380.3× | 100 million |

04 / The SlotsCollector take
Lock Wilds across a payline and repeat its 300× award through Revenge Free Spins.
Sticky Bandits Trail of Blood is mechanically much simpler than its dark theme suggests.
The entire bonus can be understood through one question: how much of the payline map can the Sticky Wilds permanently occupy?
The trigger Wilds matter more than in a normal Free Spins game because they do not disappear after awarding the bonus. They define the starting persistent board.
Every additional Wild does two jobs at once. It adds another locked position and gives another spin. That creates a natural feedback loop: more Wilds extend the feature and improve the chance of forming a fully locked payline.
Trail of Blood turns that accumulated state into a recurring payout. Once a line is fully covered, it pays 300× on every remaining Free Spin. The timing therefore matters enormously. Locking a line early leaves more spins for repeated payouts than locking it on the final spin.
The two Buy Feature options are meaningful because the more expensive one starts from a stronger Wild trigger distribution. The RTPs are also different, so they deserve separate rows.
This is a good fit for players who enjoy persistent Sticky Wild bonuses but do not want a complicated feature tree. The game has one main idea and develops it clearly.
