Money Train 5 Slot Review: A Different Kind of Bonus Journey
Money Train 5 is an unusual sequel because the headline change is not simply a higher maximum payout. Relax Gaming has taken the familiar post-apocalyptic Money Train world and given the bonus a sense of movement: tickets, stations and upgrades can change how the feature develops. Standard and Ultra modes add another dimension, while the Nuclear Wild brings a conspicuous new event to ordinary reel play.

Money Train 5 at a glance
Released on 24 September 2026, the fifth entry brings back the series' emphasis on special characters but introduces the Ticket Master, Bomber and Pyromancer. The official launch description confirms those characters, a Nuclear Wild, Standard and Ultra modes, and multiple feature-buy options. Relax's published designer interview explains the wider objective: make the bonus feel like a journey through changing stations rather than a board that can only become more or less profitable. This is a review of the documented rules and design, not a claim that we have personally observed every rare feature in a live demo.
Inside the game
How Money Train 5 works
What makes Money Train 5 different from Money Train 4?
What makes Money Train 5 different from Money Train 4?
Previous Money Train entries established a recognisable formula: special symbols and character interactions can turn the bonus into a much more eventful sequence than an ordinary reel spin. The fourth game expanded the scale but also created situations where the feature could feel decided early by an initial set of persistent effects.
The new version is designed to keep more possibilities open as the feature continues. The key idea is progression through stations. Tickets advance the journey and stations unlock upgrades, so development is no longer described solely by how large the visible cash values have become. That change gives the player something concrete to read between the dramatic effects.
The extra stages make the bonus easier to read: a station upgrade and a character effect are separate events with different roles. More visible progression does not establish a higher RTP or a shorter wait for a bonus. Follow the train's location and the characters on the current board together, because neither indicator alone describes the value of the eventual result.
The moving reels and station progression
Relax's own development commentary describes a moving reel set and a path through different locations. During the bonus, tickets advance the train and reaching stations unlocks upgrades. That is an important difference from a static hold-and-respin display.
Think of a station as a change in the rules or tools available to the ongoing feature, not as a guaranteed payout. A player should first identify the current stage, then ask what changed after the station was reached. Was a new modifier unlocked, or did an existing one become more useful? The visible progression is meaningful even when a single spin itself returns little.
Ticket progress and the respin counter answer different questions. Tickets move the train towards another station; new bonus symbols refresh the chance to continue the current round. A station is therefore a change in the feature state rather than a replacement for the counter. The number of tickets required for each station is not specified in Relax's public description.
Relax describes a 5×4 base grid with 40 paylines. Landing three or more Bonus symbols opens the feature; the product page describes each triggering symbol as adding a multiplier and three spins. New symbols reset the spins, while Ticket symbols move the train through stations. This makes a fresh symbol arrival different from merely reaching another location: one refreshes the running feature and the other advances its upgrade path.

Three or more Bonus symbols open the feature described by Relax. Read the awarded spins and symbol values before following the journey.
- New symbols
Refresh the round
New bonus symbols reset the spin counter. A reset extends the current feature; it does not itself specify the next station.
- Tickets → stations
Advance the train
Tickets move the train through stations, unlocking upgrades as the journey develops. Track this progression separately from the remaining spins.
Ticket Master, Bomber and Pyromancer
The new character set is not just decorative. Relax names the Ticket Master as a variation on the familiar Collector/Payer idea. Its role is connected to the feature's ticket-and-progress framework, but the public source does not provide a complete numeric collection formula.
The Pyromancer can leave a static hot zone on the reels. Its effect has a position, so follow the marked area after the character first appears. This is different from a one-off cash collection: the visible zone remains part of the developing board and can matter during later feature activity. Relax's description does not give an exact payout rate for that zone.
The Bomber is described by the designer as a much more forceful sniper-style character. That establishes the creative intent and role family, not a verified number of strikes, affected reel positions or symbol probabilities.
The three characters intervene in different ways. Ticket Master connects the Collector/Payer idea to the feature's progression, Pyromancer leaves a marked hot zone, and Bomber belongs to the targeted sniper-style family. Their animations may overlap, but watching the board position and the effect being resolved makes it easier to tell what actually changed during that step of the bonus.
| Character | What to follow | Why it differs |
|---|---|---|
| Ticket Master | Collector/Payer-style interaction connected to tickets | Links character effects to the journey. |
| Pyromancer | Static hot zone on marked reel positions | Leaves a positional effect. |
| Bomber | Sniper-style targeted intervention | Acts on targets rather than describing a whole-board multiplier. |
Nuclear Wild: a reason to watch the base game
The Nuclear Wild is one of the few explicitly highlighted changes to ordinary play. Relax says bombs can potentially turn up to five reels fully Wild, producing a much more dramatic moment without replacing the bonus as the centre of the game.
A Nuclear Wild event should not be confused with an automatic maximum win. Wild coverage matters only insofar as the resulting game state forms valid paying combinations under the current rules. The official description establishes the potential large-scale transformation; it does not give a guaranteed occurrence frequency.
For demo testing, watch which reels actually become Wild and then compare the game-awarded result to the visible layout. Avoid treating an impressive five-reel transformation as equivalent to a specific cash return.
- Base game
Watch the bombs
Nuclear Wild is a base-game event distinct from ticket-led bonus progress.
- Up to 5 reels
Identify transformed reels
Relax describes bombs that can turn up to five reels fully Wild. The actual event may transform fewer.
- Winning combinations
Read the awarded result
Wild coverage supports paying combinations under the game rules; a dramatic transformation is not a fixed cash award.
Standard and Ultra: separate mathematical experiences
Money Train 5 offers Standard and Ultra modes. In Relax's published developer interview, the modes are associated with advertised maximums of 50,000× and 100,000× respectively. Those numbers refer to different modes and must not be presented as one universal game maximum detached from configuration.
The distinction is larger than a cosmetic toggle. Relax describes Ultra as a way to make the experience more extreme. That does not prove an enhanced RTP or a strategically superior choice; it signals a different risk-and-reward profile with its own rules. Confirm which mode is active before comparing a headline win ceiling or a documented outcome.
Relax confirms multiple Buy Feature options. Its product listing also gives separate EUR base-stake ranges: €0.10–€20 in Standard and €0.10–€10 in Ultra. These are provider-listed stakes, not the prices of buying a bonus. A purchase quote is a separate charge shown for the chosen feature and stake; the public launch material does not give every purchase price or a buy-specific RTP.
| Mode | Minimum stake | Maximum stake | Advertised maximum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | €0.10 | €20 | 50,000× |
| Ultra | €0.10 | €10 | 100,000× |
How to approach the free demo
Start in the default mode and observe the basic interface before choosing an enhanced setting. Identify where mode selection and any feature-buy controls appear, but do not assume the options are available in every regional build.
Next, distinguish the base game's Nuclear Wild events from the longer-term ticket/station progression inside the bonus. In the bonus, pay attention to what is new: a station unlocked, a character activated, or an existing zone persisted. Those are different events even if the game presents them with similarly dramatic animation.
If Ultra mode is available, note that the published maximum differs from Standard. Comparing two short free-play sessions is useful for learning presentation and rules, not for calculating volatility or return.

04 / The SlotsCollector take
SlotsCollector take
The most interesting question about Money Train 5 is whether its moving bonus avoids the stagnant feeling that some late-stage collection rounds can develop. The station system provides a reason to care about progress beyond a single large number, and the Nuclear Wild gives ordinary spins an identity of their own.
There is a downside to the complexity. A feature with more symbols, persistent zones and optional modes takes longer to read accurately. Players looking for one simple Scatter trigger and a short Free Spins round may find this too dense. Fans of character interactions and multi-stage bonuses have a more compelling reason to try it.
Best for: existing Money Train fans, players who enjoy feature progression, and anyone comparing Standard and Ultra rule structures. Consider first: the game is presented as high-risk entertainment; an advertised ceiling is not a forecast of session results.
